Having heard various tracks on Classical FM I decided to purchase this CD and I have been absolutely delighted. It has a lovely selection of relaxing music. I can highly recommend it to anyone who loves to peacefully relax with tranquil music.

I have heard this advertised on Classic FM and for some months and have attempted to buy it to no avail. My son gave me it to me for my birthday on 17th Dec and it just touches my soul. I listen to it on my way to work and on the way home and it truly de stresses me. I work with people with dementia and love this music for bringing me back to base. I love grogarian chant so this was right up my street.

Having heard some of Howard Goodall's more famous compositions, I wan't entirely convinced before I bought this CD. Now I've heard it in its entirety, I have a new found respect for Goodall. This is a refreshingly different type of contemporary choral work which clearly draws on a rich heritage of liturgical music, and it sets out Goodall's stall as a unique composer.

I had been looking forward to hearing this cd, but have to say that my experience turned out to be 'frustrating'. The voices were certainly 'enchanting', but the experience was overshadowed by the monotonous background organ music and very often where a 'single' note, which I kept hoping would be just an introduction, was 'held' for what seemed an eternity and which irritating note I just could not help focusing on and almost to the exclusion of the enchanting voices.Howard Goodall / Enchanted Voices (Classic FM)

This is an album that is not out of place at any time of the year, Christmas, Summer, whenever. A very traditional sound with a modern twist to the music, it could almost have been written any time in the last 500 years. Reminders of Vaughan Williams G Minor Mass in places and various other part songs and pieces by various composers over the last few centuries. A beautifully haunting sound, light instrumentation providing a soft backing to soft vocals and lilting harmonies all the way through. Certainly an album you can sit down and relax to and let the troubles of the day wash away.
