Easy Read June 19, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was the easiest read in Jackie Collins I have found, but that is not bad, I ws just able to read it in a couple of hours. I really enjoyed this book and thought that the mystery surrounding Mr. X was great. I did not guess who it was, which I enjoyed not being able to, as it gave me a shock. In this book we meet Madison, one of the best charcters in the Jackie Collins land, alongside Lucky. It was a very good book and a must for any Jackie Collins fan, although it is a lot different from her other ones, but that is what makes it so good.
Okay...until the end. October 18, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Jackie Collins book is okay, not good nor brilliant, just okay. The characters are lively, and possibly the best thing about the book itself. Madison Castelli is a sharp tongued journalist who I would love to meet if she existed. Salli T Turner is a big bosomed Pamela Lee type. Natalie De Burge is a black news anchor woman, who loves matchmaking and dreams of a TV career. There are plenty more including Kristin, the high priced call girl and Freddie Leon the cold hearted agent. The storyline is a bit dull, but pacy. It's like she made it up as she went along. The ending is a mess. You expect a great big climax that will explode and shock you. Instead you get a tiny sizzle that just scrapes your satisfaction. Even the identity of the elusive Mr X isn't a great big shock, not that you will suspect who it is, merely the character itself. This is a book for Jackie fans, but don't expect another "Hollywood Wives" or "Chances" because it's a modern book, and not up to her usual standards...Still I like it.
Trashy, flashy and a good way to pass time November 26, 2000 Nice an easy read, you don't have to think to hard about the story. I enjoyed every page even if it wasn't unlike anything I'd read before. I guessed who the killer was but then I always do
gripping storyline but disappointing ending May 9, 2000 Like all Jackie Collins books this one grabbed me straight in and kept me reading. I read this story in the 4 separate versions rather than the novel which I personally wasn't keen on. Like all Collins novels there was sex, murder and more sex but a disappointing ending in my opinion.
A snappy bed-time story February 21, 2000 Although not as gripping as her previous novels, such as Lucky and chances, I still found that I couldn't put the book down. This was mainly due to the mystique of 'MR X' and the fun of trying to find out who had done what, and to whom. I would recommend this novel to established Jackie Collins readers and anybody who loves a trashy novel.
