Some good advice, but a lot of wasted space January 10, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Some of the tactics is quite interesting and worth a look, but it could be summarized in 50 pages. A lot of the "winning strategies" is very old-fashioned and patronizing - as a relatively rational customer, I don't think I will be impressed by such as speech as "Jim, for just a few cents per day you and your family will benefit from this beautiful swimming pool", especially in a business-to-business sales. Also, the author is a self proclaimed guru who likes to boast about himself and writes dozens of pages about what should be our life-style. As a conclusion, you spend a lot of time searching for the useful information.
Buy this book January 4, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Despite being a little 'American' at times, this is undoubtedly one of the best sales books I've ever bought. There are useful anecdotes, examples and exercises. Real value for money as you can use the majority of the material, rather than the odd chapter or paragraph you find with some books bought online.
Pretty good hard selling January 20, 2002 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this because I found Negotiating for Dummies was really useful. I'm not a salesman but this book has plenty of tips on how to sell yourself and your ideas. On the whole I preferred Negotiating for Dummies for persuasion and planning and getting your ideas across but this book is still useful.
I love this book: No nonse sales advice. November 25, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A no-nonse pratical book for selling stuff. It never leaves my desk. The NEADS method is a simple and effective sales strategy. Also contains very amusing passages.
could be better, but gets the point across. May 2, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The book talks common sense, to any one involved in sales. I however, am not a seasoned salesman, and found the tips offered, sensible and applicable to general selling techinques. But, it could have done with a section on marketing, and cold calling. It covers these sections in about a page or two.
