This book is an easy relaxing read. Lillian Beckwith captures the lives of the crofters with wit and humour, while still managing to describe the hardships that these people faced when croft farming still existed in is purest form. The characters make you wish you knew them personally. A book to keep and read over and over. A book to lift your mood
