A Highly Recommended Read!! July 13, 2002

This was a fantastic read, I couldnt put it down from the moment I started. Woodwood is frank and honest in this book and shows the human side of a man put in an unenviable postion of being responsible for the lifes of thousands of men. A MUST read for anyone with even the slightest interest in the military or the Falklands conflict!!

Sandy is quickly brought to heel at the opening of his book, to give the sinking of one of his major units more than a one-liner. The lesson to civilianise his writings is learnt, and applied, as astutely as the lessons he had learnt at war.The book gives both a 'management' and human feel to the events that swept along during those 100 days. You are alone with Sandy in his cabin as he absorbs results from orders issued and considers his future actions. Activity in the UK and the frenzy in Buenos Aires are forming Sandy,s future and Task Force. A book for anyone who couldn't be there, a fascinating insight to those who were, and an explanation of why some didn't make it home.
