An uplifting title October 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This sends out a message of hope for the long suffering. This a carefully crafted piece, and very moving at times with the profound message of effortless manifestation of one's desires. Esther has built her career around her teachings, and what is imparted from here proves she is up there with the best of them. Although a lifelong fan of Esther, I would not just write a good review for the sake of it. What lies ahead in the future, no one knows. This book, though, allows you to able to change direction in life and to have some control over your destiny by implementing change through generating positive feelings. Well done, Esther and Jerry.
Simply put, an uplifting book for the badly done to September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A cathartic book that gives solutions which can be applied to every day life. The whole book is something that has to be absorbed, as opposed to cherry picking pieces out of it and that is the only downside. I am a bit of an Esther Hicks fan so find her books very rewarding to read. I think a lot would be gained by those people overcoming massive problems in their life if they were to read this book, as it does do a good job of uplifting the downward trodden.
Really Good August 13, 2008 I have read a lot of self help books and will probably continue to do so, because I like to learn new ways of improving myself and feeling good. However this is the first book I have actually reviewed. Whilst I think the message in the book is essentially very simple, it is delivered in a way that for me offered a very effective 'shift'- resulting in me feeling much more peaceful, whilst having an inner knowing that I'm on the right track. The book starts by explaining the theory of how to attract what you desire, then continues into examples of how the theory can be used to overcome specific problems. I thought the examples would be pretty pointless as a large number of them just didn't apply to me. However after reading the examples I got an even better understanding of the theory and in many cases a slant could be put on the examples to make them more specific to me. I Would really recommend the book, if inner peace, whilst fulfilling your desires is what you are after.
Not really useful, buy "Ask and it is given instead" July 26, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Hicks couple spread - when correctly understood and hopefully put in the Christian prospective which is at the root of all these teachings, as the very title of the original book shows - a beautiful message.
Still, they keep cooking the same soup again and again, as this books also shows.
By far the best books is, in my eyes, the first one: "Ask and it is given". The subsequents books are all expansion on the original theme, they do not add anything but do cost additional money.
This one is, in my eyes, less useful than others "additions" to the original books like "The power of Attraction".
If you are interesting in being introduced into the "attraction" thinking, I then suggest "Ask and it is given" by far, and if you are interested in expanding on the issue, "The Law of Attraction".
Go With The Flow! May 12, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
What I like best about this book is the visual metaphor it uses to illustrate the process of manifestation. Basically, it reminds you that if you are experiencing "bad" feelings, you are paddling upstream (and headed away from what you want), and if you are experiencing "good" feelings, you are paddling downstream (and headed toward what you want). Obviously, to get where you want to go in life it is easier to go "with" the flow rather than "against" it! It occurs to me, though, that this valuable lesson will be lost on people who have a hard time accepting the source of this material -- a channeled group of non-physical entities called Abraham. For the more spiritually traditional readers out there, I would suggest a book called "Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow." You can tell from the title that it uses the same metaphor, but this author describes the manifestation process as "cooperating with the divine flow of God's guidance." Similar idea. Different language.
