 be aware of accent and cd layout December 20, 2008

Two things to be aware of - Glen has a kind of Essex / cockney accent which I found distracting as a UK buyer. (US listeners may find it charming!). Personally I prefer a voice which is more neutral.
As another reviewer mentioned, the CD layout really doesn't work unless you know how to programme your player to play one track only. The first track sends you to sleep (well, for me, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't), and then his voice is back; loud and bright with upbeat music, introducing the next track on Lucid Dreaming.
(An alternative is of course to put it onto MP3 and listen on an MP3 player.)
I think if you're desparate for sleep, anything's worth trying. This isn't a guaranteed sleep CD for me, but now I have it on my MP3 player I do listen to it sometimes. Happy to have it in my repetoire; not a CD I would give anyone as a present though.

I didn't like this CD at all.
I returned it because there's a guy speaking all the time.
It's pretty annoying when he starts the part where he just says "deep deep sleep" and goes on and on...
I couldn't sleep at all because I had to "concentrate" on his voice.
My body was relaxed, but I couldn't get to sleep.
He suggests that people should use headphones, but that makes it all more bad.
My advice for people is that they should look elsewhere. Buy something with just soothing, slow music. I have a CD that I borrowed from a friend that is just soft music, and was designed for aiding the sleep process, and that actually worked for me. I am actually going to the Amazon page to buy it right now.
If you don't like an annoying voice telling you that "you are going to go to a deep deep deep sleep... sleep... deeeeep sleeeep", you should NOT buy this CD as it is all about that.

As a tinnitus sufferer and a part-time insomniac sleep often eludes me,this CD is a great help with calming a sometimes racing mind and setting the scene for a good nights sleep.
Unlike some of the other reviewers I cant say this CD actually puts me to sleep (lucky devils !!)but it is a very positive influence and promotes sleep. I would also recommend "Creating inner peace and calm" by Glenn Harrold for the racing mind which can be sleeps biggest enemy.
Sweet dreams !!

Wht a strange experience. This man has a really awful voice - quite scary - and really annoying. Having said all that I have been a poor sleeper for years and tried every "cure" possible, from prescribed drugs to yoga, you name it and I have tried it. Glenn seems to work. Not every night but I have had long, restful nights of sleep which previously I would only have dreamed of (if only I could get to dream) for which I am truly grateful.

I am so glad I purchased this cd.
This cd has shown me a way into relaxing that I would not ever have managed alone.
Listening to it keeps you on track and stops your mind wandering.
I'd not had a proper nights sleep for 16 years, for various reasons including not being able to switch my brain off at night.
Thoughts, ideas and worries would just make it impossible to relax enough to be able to drift off to sleep.
I could not consider medication to help me sleep because my son is diabetic.
I tried the lavender sprays etc, but they did not help.
Buying this cd for me was my only resort, and I am so glad I did.
I've had this cd now for several months and I consider it one of the best purchases I have ever made.
It took a week or so before I experienced the full benefit, and now I don't even have to listen to it every night,
I just lay there going through the motions of visualizing and deep breathing.
My mother and sister both gave this cd a go and it worked for them too.
I was so impressed I also purchased Glenn Harrold's relaxation one too, although I found the tracks too similar to this cd, so I usually just stick to this sleep one.
What you get, (improved quality of life,) for the small amount of money you spend on this, is Priceless.
A big thank you goes to Glenn Harrold, he's definitely made an improvement in my life.
