Excellent book for basic practice February 28, 2005

I found this book excellent practice to back up my self-taught Japanese. It contains a wide variety of exercises addressing topics such as introducing yourself, time, locations, family, likes and dislikes, weather, transportation etc. It also has exercises on adjectives, tenses and verbs. There is also an extensive Japanese to English glossary, Verb tables, reference section, and a hiragana and katakana table, and naturally, the answers. The book uses romaji, hiragana, katakana and kanji, with instructions in English. The variety of exercises includes: crosswords, wordsearches, translation into English and Japanese, odd-one-out, matching of English/romaji/kana, rearranging words to make sentences. This might be a very useful aid to review what have you learnt after learning with those teach-yourself style books.
