Kept Me Reading December 24, 2008 Wendy Jones (Southampton, England) Having read many of the reviews on Amazon I was a bit reluctant to read this book, but I was pleasantly surprised. I found it to be well paced and exciting and the characters were well scripted. I found myself loving them and hating them in turns. As someone from a medical background I had to suspend belief in a couple of places, but otherwise I thought the plot was excellent. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that, I found the ending slightly strange and somewhat abrupt, but otherwise I thought it was a good read. I would certainly recommend this book.
very poor! December 10, 2008 Mr. J.A.S. (UK) Very disappointed by this book. The plot (flimsy at best) seamed to jump all over the place and just when you think things were getting interesting J.P. would cut out that bit and go straight to the aftermath! Ive never felt like asking for my money back before but there is a first for everything and boy do i feel ripped off!
Huge Disappointment! December 10, 2008 J. Otto (New Zealand) Actually I don't know why I have written huge disappointment, because I have been disappointed in a lot Patterson has put out over the years. Why did I bother to read it? Only because it is co-written. Even that does not save the book! Glad I got it from the library otherwise it would have been a huge waste of money. Stupid plot! Stupid characters and authors killed off early the one character that could have been used to create a better story. This has gone the way of Mary Higgins-Clark rubbish over the years.
Disappointing October 24, 2008 Moira J. McVeigh (London, England) Like the other one star reviewers, I am/was an avid James Patterson fan eagerly awaiting each new story. However, that is no longer the case and the stories are now just dreadful. Yes, they are still page turners but they no longer grip the reader and the endings are dire. "Sail" is no different to the last few churned out in collaboration with other authors, it looks as if it's going to be a great read but oh the disappointment as you delve in - one dimensional characters who fail to arouse any interest in their fate and an ending I've already forgotten as I really didn't care!!
Shockingly bad October 2, 2008 L. Howard Any book that has a man eating snake come out of nowhere is I'm afraid rubbish. This story has so many plot twists that it is plain silly and to cap it all the plot is predictable, but childish. The only good thing about the book is the ending, but for no other reason other than I have finished it and will not need to read it ever again.
