Gone Off Course? September 1, 2008 RAWR!!! (Yorkshire, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think that maybe this book is a show of how James Patterson is resorting to churning out new books every two months, without really coming up with a good way to end the story. I love the womens murder club series and although this one started off quite well the ending came as a disapointment. The arson cases were solved within a matter of chapters and the culprit was someone who had never really been introduced in the book before. I know a lot think that the recent stream of badly written novels is because of the two authors, but is it really just because Mr James Patterson, is losing his touch. I myself, am now turning to newer authors like Cody McFadeyen and Chris Mooney and maybe Patterson shoulkd slow down and really read the books he is writing because otherwise pretty soon no one else is going to.
A good read June 28, 2008 Mrs. Barbara Vaughan (Manchester UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Once again, sharp and action filled stories moving at a fast pace. I particularly like the short chapters which give an added impetus to the writing. For those familiar with the Womens Murder Club, this is as good as it's predecessors and I await the WMC 8.
No, no, no. Stop it. Please. June 28, 2008 Ray Blake (Hemel Hempstead, UK) I have come to expect little from this series, and in this respect, the latest outing does not disappoint. If you like characters that it's difficult to tell apart, if you enjoy Janet & John dialogue that even Enid Blyton would have discarded as too facile and stilted, if you don't really want any real plot worth speaking of, if you want protagonists to act outside their established motivations, then by all means, obtain this book. It's just your sort of thing. For the rest of us, however, this book disappoints on every level. The 'thrilling court room scenes' are hackneyed and pedestrian. Just as in the previous novel, it is as if none of the protagonists have been in court before, nor understand many basic legal concepts. Mr Patterson's name and reputation continue to be cheapened by his involvement in this series - whatver the actual nature of that involvement might be. It's time for him to write some good books again on his own (without some of the obvious product placement we've seen from him in the past, too) and re-establish some credibility as a writer. Come on, James, you're better than this.

Easy Reading June 21, 2008 Mrs. S. I. Morgan (Osnabruck, Germany) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this series, I can see where some of the reviewers are coming from, however for me personally I still enjoy these, and am waiting for No8, to see how the relationship between Lindsey, Joe and Richie developes! Don't start with this novel you must start at No1!
