Best book I've read in a long while! December 30, 2008 K. Gregory (UK) This book was passed to me by my Mum who claimed that it was "un-put-downable". I read the book in a matter of hours and must say it is one of the best books I have picked up in a long time. I have never read Peter James before but am now halfway through the second book. In this book, Michael Harrison is left in a life or death situation after four of his friends wind up dead after a Stag night prank gone wrong. The lead detective Roy Grace is a fantastic character and I think he is my new lead hero. Cannot reccomend this book highly enough. The book was fresh and new and the story line gripping and a complete page turner. Peter James has me hook line and sinker.
Simply gripping December 9, 2008 Stella (UK) This book has you gripped straight from the shocking intro, and twists and turns to a fabulous climax. You really do feel for the main charachter, Michael. James's style beautifully descriptive, but also very easy to read which is a nice change after having read 3 slightly more complex (but equally entertaining) Nesbo books. I look forward to reading Looking Dead Good...
AMAZING December 9, 2008 S. M. Bon (Colcheste England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Once you start this book you won't be able to stop! It's brilliant, the story and the characters, Roy Grace is great. I'd recommend this to anyone, it's going round our office and we're all waiting for each other to finish it so we can talk about it... starting on the second one and can't wait. READ it!

SET IN BRIGHTON AND ITS GOOD STRAIGHT AWAY QUITE EXCITING AND SUPRISING TWISTS IN THE TALE. yOU ALSO GET TO KNOW ROY GRACE THE DECTITIVE ABOUT HIS PRIVATE LIFE AND HOW HE THINKS, ITS ABOUT SOME LADS WHO GO ON A STAG NIGHT AND THEY BURY THERE MATE MICHAEL IN A COFFIN AS A PRANK (some mates)BUT IT GOES WRONG WHEN THE MATES ARE KILLED IN A CAR CRASH AND MICHEAL IS BURRIED SOMEWHERE, ROY GRACE AND HIS TEAM TRY TO FIND HIM. THIS IS THE FIRST ONE IN THE SERIES AND WELL WORTH READING THEM ALL BUT YOU HAVE TO REALLY START WITH THIS ONE.
Loved it September 16, 2008 Mr. A. carter (Wiltshire, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first encounter with Peter James, and bloody glad i chose this amongst other books in the charity shop. As i progressed through the book, my girlfriend could hear me whisper "Oh my god" several times as the story unfolded. I was part relaying the story as i read. lol. Another plus point is the story is set where i grew up, so i had the added visual bonus with the story, which was cool. Just ordered my second P.James book and cant wait to recieve it. 10/10
