Loved it. It was gritty and realsitic with a thumping good plot. Slightly lost it in the end but still worth ervy page.

I was passed this book as my mum had really enjoyed it and went on and read the other two!
This book is about Lorraine Page who is an alchoholic. She used to be a cop, but due to drink lost her job and became a prostitute. She lost her family, her friends, her house, everything except what she stood up in.
The first chapter shows her losing her job and her hubby moving out. Then we skip a few years untl we see her starting to sort herself out, with the help of Rosie. She becomes involved in hunting down a serial killer.
This book is very gripping and enjoyable and shows you the struggles that the individuals have with their demons. I cant wait to read the next one!

I recently took this book on holiday and could'nt put it down. I felt every sympathy for Lorraine Page the main character she really looses everything but picks herself up and starts again. Ive just started reading the 2nd book in the series which is equally as enjoyable.

This is the first of a trilogy. To be honest I found this book a little slow and hard to get into. I finally finished it and went on to read the second and third books which were much more enjoyable.I would recommend this book along with the others. Put them all together and it's a very good story.

The first of Lynda La Plantes Lorraine Page novels is a must. This is the story of a police womans struggle with alcohol abuse that costs a young mans life, her job, her family and her dignity. Working as a prostitute Lorraine comes face to face with a vicious killer, this brush with death leads not only to a manhunt for the murderer on the streets of L.A. but to Lorraine facing up to her past, and attempting to reassemble her shattered life. As usual the strength of La Plantes characters shines through, making this a fast paced and unmissable read.
