Stephen Fry's narration was amazing and I could really believe that I was there in the book. I was abit apprehensive at firt to listen to a book on tape but after recieving it as a gift I was persuaded to listen to it. Now, I am a self confessed Harry Potter fanatic and me and my children have listened to this CD on average around ten times! This is definetly worth the money as you will be given hours of endless fun! Buy it now for a long car journey to guarentee silence from your children! This reading by Stephen Fry is an unabridged audio cassette of the book. The reading is very enjoyable and not at all overdone like many readings for children. The story itself is the simplest and shortest of the Potter saga so far, rather in the style of 'What Harry did at school' But it's probably the best for children and the storytelling is enchanting. Although the length is quite formidable, the lack of abridgement is a very good thing, meaning that there are no confusing gaps in the plot or loss of Rowling's excellent narrative. All 6 cassettes come in a nice chunky box and it makes a good present. Definitely better than the film.
