| Customer Reviews: 1983 - "Change in man" 2007 - slowly happening! April 6, 2007 Paul Foreman (England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Recorded live in 1983, Krishnamurti immediately grounds our expectations by saying "This is not an entertainment" "Not to convince you" "Not a lecture" He invites us to investigate subjects such as war, politics, peace, religion and life.
When you listen to Krishnamurti speaking over two decades ago, it seems astonishing that the same world problems he highlighted then, still exist today. The unconsciousness of mankind lives on. Our modern world of DVD's, CD's, the internet and fast moving improvements in international communications could herald the "change in man" that Krishnamurti speaks of. In years past it was the job of books (and people of course) to educate and spread the word - nowadays we have at our fingertips the technology to bring about peace - lets hope we use it! Krishnamurti had remarkable vision - that vision will only ever be held back by us on an individual level and by the egos of world leaders and decision makers. That includes the media who could be the vital link to a new world if they choose to promote the positive movement of inner peace that will lead to world peace.
Krishnamurti invites us to think, to look inside, to consider and investigate inwardly for ourselves; he points to what is an obvious truth - change will only ever happen on an individual basis upwards.
Thankfully the world is beginning to change. What Eckhart Tolle points to as "The Flowering of Human Consciousness" is happening. Krishnamurti says "To take a long journey you must begin very near - which is you"
Through social programming, instead of seeing things as they are, we believe we are all separate and each of us, under a cloud of illusion, seek personal betterment; enhancement of our "self". We are fooled into "becoming an ideal" rather than "understanding what is". All of us are guests on this planet and yet we are mostly preoccupied in our "attempt to become something".
This is a fascinating CD to listen to - it stills muddy waters and uncovers what we truly already know deep down - that change must and can only begin with each and every one of us.
