| Customer Reviews: Great Listening For Any Age February 11, 2010 Red Duster (Somerset, England) My wife and I listened to this over four Saturday evenings.
The story line is good and it kept one's mind occupied listening to the plot unfold.
I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good novel put into play form. If you really want the icing on the cake try listening with the lights turned down.
On a final note - there are 4 discs each lasting one hour so would suggest you listen to one episode a week - its great waiting for the next episode!!
Good listening.
A super era mystery January 21, 2010 C. M. Oldham (UK) For any one who likes this era and mystery stories of this genre. It is clever and funny, although in this one the police do come across a bit nit witted. Love the whole series, and the end of this one is quite unexpected "by Timothy" as Paul would say! Listen and enjoy yourself steeped in a gentler era of mystery story.
By Timothy¬ I am now officially addicted to Paul Temple CDs! September 25, 2009 E. Heckingbottom (U.K.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have now bought a few of these CDs and they have taken me all over the area as I travel, playing these on my car Cd player. The stories are so enjoyabe tha I have been known to make diversions in order to complete a chapter or book! This CD was no exception.
Paul Temple was originally created as an early post war writer/detective; however, like the storis created by Agatha Christie, these have not really suffered from the passing of time, and have been brought fully alive by the storytelling skills of Anthony Head; - and one of the real draws of this CD is that he portrays the story so well, pulling you into the story and bringing the characters alive.
Actually the first of the Paul and Steve Temple stories (they meet during this one - so if you want to know how they 'get together', this CD is a must!), the plot is great - but listen out for the odd 'oddity' - such as the clothes worn by Steve and Paul as they ecplore an underground passage!
Send for Paul Temple, hear and enjoy!

This is the first time Paul meets Steve, and she remains true to the character throughout the series. As Paul is a batchelor at the start of this story it sets up the detective partnership for all the rest.An ingenious plot, but with a few errors in time and distance, however these hardly matter. and the story is very enjoyable.
