This book is not an easy read for parent or child. Disappointed as the reviews seemed to suggest otherwise.

I purchased this book for my Reception Class. We are looking at Pirates and how wonderful to find a book which will engage the girls as much as the boy - girl pirates and captain with the boy as main characer! The story also comes with a CD. The story is brilliantly read by John Sessions - and fantastic music and sound effects.

A strange book that neither my 2 1/2 year old son nor I could seem to get into. I bought this book off amazon after reading the reviews however have been left dissapointed by its lack of substance. Plenty of better books out there ....

My daughter loves this story. i bought it for her last christmas, aged 3 1/2 and its still the main choice of bed time reading now. its got a lovely poetic flow to the story and its a great read for a boy or a girl. the hero is a little boy but the pirates are girls. buy it.

I have a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son who have taken this book off the book shelf time and time again for thier bed time story in the 2 years since we bought it. I'm about to buy it for my God Daughter, who is a pirate in her spare time, as she also loves the story. I cannot recommend this book enough.
