Very funny March 31, 2010 J. beirne (China) He was probably the precursor for The Office. His comedy is the comedy of embarrassing moments. It was a radio series of Alan Partridge and his new chat show.
My favourite is the snotty little posh kid who gets the better of him until Alan.... no, I won't spoil it for you.
You can hear lots well- known of British actors and actresses appear as different characters.
Goes well in the car on long journeys.
You ae an extraordinary man, Mr Partridge! January 20, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
So speaks one of his guests on this 3 hour compilation of shows from his radion series. This is arguably better than the subsequent TV series, and great value for money - buy it! Stand outs have to be the ex member of the House of Lords (a drunken offensive fool, who dies live on air), the child genius WHOM Alan assaults, and the loss of his and his wife's car due to ill-educated attempts at betting. Ah Ha!

I first heard this series on a Saturday morning in 1993 when I switched on the radio (Radio 4). At first I thought it was a real chat show until after a short while my sides were splitting. I got my girlfriend to listen to the next episode as it was so unmissable. She agreed it was fantastic. This is 'THE' definitive Alan Partridge show. Quotes from the show just stick in your brain and then wander back from time to time to bring a smile to your face or a surpressed chuckle. I bought the cassette tapes a while ago and now I'm buying this box set because this is just such good quality comedy. I've listened to the tapes over and over and over and now they're warn out. They just get funnier after each listening because of all the little bits you missed. If you thought the KMKYWAP chat show series wasn't quite firing on all cylinders, listen to this to understand how perfect the format is on radio. Listen out for the interviews that are totally unforgettable Partridge: The Duchess of Stranraer, Simon Fisher, Janey Katz, Shirley Dee, Steve Thomson, Conrad Knight, Bernie Rosen and of course Alan's (now ex) nemesis the evil Tony Hayers. I swear you will NOT believe how hilarious this is. If you haven't got this you're missing out big time......and to be honest in my book that makes you a "blond bastard.......from the future" and on that bombshell A-Haaaaaaa
Funny words don`t describe how funny this is! January 2, 2001 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
These six shows from Knowing Me Knowing You the radio series, are hillarious. This is pre-Alan. If you follow Alan Partridge`s way through life, you are missing some of the first broadcastings he ever did and these are possibly funnier than any other stuff he has done. Pop in the CD`s, sit back and listen to the antics of a child hitter, a book critic, a cocaine taker, a gambler....the things Alan gets up to!

Classic. Steve Coogan rocked the radio world with Alan Partridge only to do it again on TV. This is Alan in his infancy and well worth paying out for... AHA!
